My love of quilting began as a child by watching my mother and grandmother make amazing quilts. I began sewing on a machine at age twelve, took every sewing class available to me in high school and Home Economics was the only program I could imagine taking in college. Consequently, I studied Home Economics and became a teacher of sewing. I have sewn all of my life and about thirteen years ago, I became serious about quilting. I have worked diligently ever since to improve my craft. My piece, “Munising Falls” was juried into and put on display at an international quilt show put on by the American Quilting Society in Des Moines Iowa, October, 2009, which was attended by approximately 20,000 persons. This piece was won the “Viewer’s Choice Award” at the Saintly Stitchers’ Quilting Guild Quilt Show in Norway, Michigan, this past October. In early 2012, I purchased my first long-arm quilting machine and now provide long arm quilting, custom made-to-order quilts and other sewing services to the public.
